I found this coal scrip yesterday. I haven't been able to find out anything about it. I have seen some that are similar to it. I assume that it had an aluminum piece that went in the center like some of the other ones I have seen, but it was so corroded it fell apart in my hand. I had to use electrolysis on it so I could make out what it said. If anyone has any info on this in would be appreciated. I can't seem to find anything about it.

That's a cool find!

Storm King Coal Company, Inc. was located in Hazard, Perry County, Ky from 1915 to 1925 according to a google search. I'm from Harlan. Seems that is one of the oldest mines in the area, starting the same year as Blue Diamond.

I have a scrip from Goose Creek mine, dated to 1943-1944. I didn't dig up, but I have no idea where it came from. All my family is from Logan County, WV, and deeply (no pun intended) involved in the coal industry.

Thanks for all the info!

Really neat script
