Cobalt Porthole? Or something else

Found this buried on a table at a local fleamarket

Paid $40

Not sure what it was used for , but it is eye catching

Its iron on the outer rim , there is 4 cobalt glass pieces held together with copper

Is it a porthole? , nautical?

Are you sure it is 4 pieces and the copper is what is holding them together? What is the diameter of the glass and is it just slightly convex or more so, dome shaped? Need side view and back view. Interesting.

The glass is about 11" in diameter. It's definitely four pieces .
