cobra snake ring with ruby eyes, what metal is it

found this in a hill in NH where i find about 8-10 coins each day i go , but under 6 inches of packed dirt. it is heavy for its size 13.3 grams, non magnetic. too high quality to be a modern kids ring, yet kind of cartoonish is appearance but could have ben an old era kids ring . any idea what type of metal it could be , looks like silver pealing off a darker rusty color metal
