Coffee Break

I think that the surf and sand Gods are on an extended coffee break! The water was rough again and I tried to get in several times but just couldn't stay in there so it was mostly sand hunting for me this morning. I did see several hunters there this morning but didn't get to speak to any of them.

Question..... what is worse than a bottle cap to find?
Answer.... part of a bottle cap! LOL

OK I'll get down to it - no more fooling around. I didn't find much this morning. A drumroll here please..... 96 cents for me.

EmeraldEyes did a little better. She found $2.00 in clad and 2 earrings.

One of the earrings is a "peace" symbol and junk.

The other one, she got lucky on. It is 14k and I believe that she may have some small diamonds in it. Yeah EE!

Ok not a lot but we are both happy. We'll take it!

Meanwhile can anyone suggest a good diamond tester that is easy to use but doesn't cost an "arm and a leg"?

That is a nice little ring.

You're not going to find a cheap and good diamond tester. I own a Presidium multitester. They go for around $239. This one also tells the difference between diamonds and moissanite. It does not give a reading for CZ or glass, though. Stores are selling a lot of moissanate nowdays. Most checkers think it is a diamond. If you try to sell a moissanite ring as a diamond ring, you will soon get yourself an enemy, when they have it checked by a jeweler. Even if it is 14K, it may have moissanite stones and not diamonds. If you don't want to spend the money, just have a jeweler check it. At the jewelry counter at Sam's Club they will check your stones for free. NEVER trust what a pawn shop tells you!
