coil covers

I have the ability to make a protective cover out of 1/8" thk UHMW for the bottom of my ace 250. Does anyone know how that would affect the performance of the coil? Would there be a better material to use?

not sure what end of the nail goes in the wall so i couldn't make one,so i bought one for five bucks

A buddy of mine coated the bottom of his coil with gray epoxy paint. It is real durable and he can see when he needs to touch it up. Just make sure it doesn't contain any metal substances.
