All, I have a new (used) coiltek WOT. I used it for the first time one the beach this weekend. WHat I experienced was annoying. It would beep each time I hit it on the ground. The reading wuld be 00/31 on the digital screen. I quickly discovered it was just me hitting the coil on the ground...not some huge cache of gold or platinum.

I realize I could be smoother on my swings...but seems to be directly related to the coil touching the ground.

I have tightened up all my connections and cleaned out the inside of the coil cover so no soil or water is in it...still beeps.

Any advice?

Your Not trying to nail the signal into the ground are you ?

You don't Mention Sovereign, Excalibur or Explorer ?

(It may make a Diffeence)

I have the WOT on my Sovereign, & a Solid Scuff Cover on it.

I scrub the ground Continuosly, & Have no Problem.
The Sovereign Hates Air between te Soil & the Coil.
For Every inch Between, I'd Swear I loose 3" in depth.

If you have the Explorer turn down your sensitivity some.

Sorry, it is an EXII. RIght, I don't intentionally hit is on the ground...but sometime the light scrubbing across the sand even does it.

I had a 15' WOT on my Quattro and always hunted the beach. Mine did the same thing, as Jeff said don't sweep the sand. It'll take a little time to get it down, but it's worth it. You can cover so much more area with the big coil!

Yea it can Get Snagged a Little while trying to Glide.

I don't know if they make them yet,
But if you can pick up a solid Coil Cover like this. Or
Make one somehow, it may prevent some of the Grabbing.
