I have the AT GOLD with the small stock coil. I am looking at getting the NEL coil to cover more ground and depth. I am a long time hunter and not a rookie but looking for advice. I am looking at the 12x13 Tornado for relic hunting in non hot soil and for occasional coin hunting. I have other pulse machines for relic hunting. Will the Tornado be ok? I was also considering the 15" which I know will be a little deeper. So there it is. Any advice on the NEL coils for the GOLD. How much deeper will the 15" be over the Tornado? will I loose any depth that will be noticeable.

Hey there, I use the Hunter coils by NEL on my AT Pro and Fisher F70 I've used the Attack Coil on the At Gold and its a lot swinging on the stick if you know what I mean. The NEL coils are great! I use the Sharpshooter, Hunter coils now. I've used the Attack and the Tornado. Your not getting so much depth as your getting area covered each swing with larger coils, air tests may dispel this but add the ground to any test you do with larger coils and you will see what I mean. The ground, any ground is mineralized so add that large target behind your test target and things change. Also don't crank the juice, dial it back with larger coils or you will get too much energy on shallow targets. My AT Gold and the Attack coil had it as bad as 2-4" dead space directly below the coil with the settings cranked all the way up. Now it found a quarter at almost 19 inches, but my reality was what did I miss at 1-10 inches? And honestly I didn't dig that many targets below what the 12.5 x 8.5 hunter coil could find.
At the end of the day it was area covered by the added width of the coil.
If you do one do the Tornado coil.
Good luck stay gold!!
