Unfortunately, the story isn't about me, but about a friend here at work.

Yesterday, a friend walks by my desk and sees me taking a look here on TN. He says "I have some coins I'll bring in for you to take a look at."

Today he came in and on my desk placed a little red box with the following:

5 - Morgan Dollars
3 - Ikes
4 - Walker halves
6 - 40% Kennies
9 - 90% Kennies
13 - Bennies
4 - Misc. foreign

All the coins are in nice shape. I thought maybe a relative left them to him. He proceeded to tell me that he found this box on the top shelf of a closet when he had moved into a home he bought. The previous owner had passed away about a year before he ever found the box.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to have moved into a newly constructed home, but I do envy the story some of you tell about finding neat things in your older homes and/or yards!

did you offer to buy them for $50? ;D

LOL. Naahh... I wouldn't do that. Actually, he took them to a dealer once who had offered $60 for the box. He thought it would be best to hold on to 'em and let his kids fight over them when he's gone. LOL

good idea. They'll be worth a ton to his kids :)
