I found this in a farm field not far from an 1817 Matron Head Cent.

I gave the side view because it may not be all metal or else its corroded.

Here are some other facts.

• Garrett AT PRO VDI = 45
• Letters on the back appear to be IA or LA followed by a space and then a possible N
• The interior does not appear to be metal or perhaps it’s just corroded
• Piece is about a half inch long

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

It took me 2 months but I found a match. After an exhaustive search that eliminated american and British coins, I found a match with a French coin. Its a 1791-1793 french 12 deniers.combined409574.webpcombined31023.webp
