Coin or Jewelery?

It is a little bit larger than a nickel, thinner than any american coin, holed on the top and bottom.

At first I thought it was a charm for a bracelet, but in the pictures noticed it was holed in two places

I've intentionally rotated the second picture as it looks like some sort of writing, Arabic?

Yeah I was thinking that as well, but having two holes may discount that.

I'll have to find a belly dancing parlor after work and check it out, see if they are similar

Yes you have to do the research Maybe the two holes if it was fashioned as an earring?
