coin storage?

Welcome hawaiianboi, it all depends on the silver coins and whether they have collector value or just scrap value. With my coins anything above good, very good condition go into protective sleeves and into a metal box, then into my hiding place lol. Scrap value go into a hinged sheet metal box.

Welcome to Tnet. Silver coins and key coins go into sleeves and I like to add a note where it was found, etc. Wheaties in one big butter tub, Indian Heads in another and so on.

hawaiianboi, you really have to ask Jeff the story behind his finding that cash register. If I remember correctly, it was buried about 1 1/2" down in some ghost town he hunts in PA. Great story to read and an inspiration to all in this hobby.

Actually No The Cash register was an Auction Purchase.

I think, your Thinking of the slot Machines
found in a Drained Lake Bottom.

hawaiianboi, see what I mean :headbang: Jeff was also purported to have found Hoffa's missing body, but it was just some other gangster sealed in a drum. :tongue3:

That is unless I have some of my stories crossed :icon_scratch:

Was Sweet arrow Lake in Pine Grove.

we had a 3 or 4 year Run
the place was Phenominal.
(If made by Indians or Man,
it was / Is in there LOL)

Unfortunately it is Now Filled,
Converted into a County Park
& Detecting, & removal of Artifacts,
Not allowed, since the County & Fish & Game
took over,

I put my some of my finds in 2 X 2 coin holders and others I just put into tubes or jars then they go into the safe for safe keeping. But only until I get them out to look at them.....Matt

I like to play pirate :icon_pirat: and keep my (booty) modern coins/clad in a novelty treasure chest that my wife bought me in a gift shop. It makes me feel like the not so old coins are my accumulating treasure :tongue3:

You can always look into coin folders. It's a great way to store a lot of coins in a small space. These are a little different than coin albums, because coin folders have two or more pages that unfold to let you view the entire collection at one time (although they do not let you view both sides of the coins). Coin albums have multiple pages that have coin slots allowing you to view both sides of your coins. If you are thinking of storing your collection in an album, you should purchase an one that includes a slip case for extra safety.

The clad I save for my son's college fund. The silver is put in 2 x 2 hard plastic with what, where, and when. Every thing else gets put in respective tubs to go through later.
