Coin tumbler rock ratio to coin

How much fish tank gravel should I have in the tumbler to give me good results. How many coins compared to gravel should I have? Also should I separate the pennys from the rest? How much soap and water should I put in. HELP ME!

Ok...here goes...Yes you must seperate the pennies from the other coins.

You should have enough gravel so that all the coins are covered.

You may also want to add a little "play sand" (sifted) to shine the coins.

just a couple drops of dish liquid will do the trick

Add enough water to cover all gravel and coins.


This is the "recipe" that I use and I have had very good results.

usually a couple hours does good, but if the coins are really nasty, I'd go 3 to 4 hours.

Put a tbl spoon of ammonia in as well, works great
