I have a medallion and coin? that I found in grandpa's old keepsake box. First one is of President grant with "SOLDIER-PRESIDENT-CITIZEN" across the top, and "THOUGH TO EARTH NO MORE- IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER" across the bottom. With "IN MEMORIAM U.S.GRANT" printed in the inner and then his relief. Other side has him sitting on horse and the names of towns and date. Its about 2- 1/2 inch tall, very heavy thing.

2nd is smaller, about the size of a quarter. It says "SUGAR PALACE EXPOSITION" across the top and "GRAND ISLAND.NEB 1890" across the bottom. It has what I guess anyone would call a palace building with pendents flying. The other side has what I would call a beet or carrot ringed in a wreath.

Both are in very good shape.

SUGAR BEET  :icon_thumright: -- sugar makers / marketers expo --basically a meeting of folks in the sugar beet bussiness .

Definitely a sugar beet, sight unseen. Carrots at the sugar festival in the Sugar Palace?? Baaaarf.

I thank everyone for taking the time to help me in finding this info out. The two items are what you all came back with. I will take pics of them and put them up here. With the value being so low, I think, these things deserve a better place then being sold. I will make something that they can be displayed into, and can show the world what life was like early on. Again thank you SO much.
