Coinstar-A-Day Staycation Search

This past Saturday I started a 12-day staycation and decided it would be a fun idea to visit at least one Coinstar each day and chronicle the results. Here's what's been found so far:


Day 1, Sat Nov 3rd

Smith's (near me) - Skunk

Day 2, Sun Nov 4th

Smith's (near me) - Skunk
Albertson's (a couple blocks away) - Skunk
Smith's (three blocks away) - Skunk

[Well, this is off to rollicking start! ]

Day 3, Mon Nov 5th
Smith's (the one I used to work at across town) - Full reject tray, 74 coins! All modern, pennies thru dimes totalling $2.32!
Smith's (near me) - a clad dime

Day 4, Tues Nov 6th

Smith's (near me) - 2 clad quarters, 2 zincolns
Albertson's (couple of blocks away) - Skunk
Smith's (near me, return visit) - one zincoln...and a 1964 dime!

Day 5, Wed Nov 7th

Walmart (couple miles from me) - Two German Euro coins --> 1 euro cent (2008D), 2 euro cents (2008F) & a zincoln.
Smith's (my old workplace again) - 12 coins consisting of modern cents thru dimes totalling 51 cents. My old haunt is such a goldmine! Wish I could visit there more often.
Smith's (near me, figured I'd stop on the way home) - Skunk!

Day 5, Wed Nov 7th

Walmart (couple miles from me) - Two German Euro coins --> 1 euro cent (2008D), 2 euro cents (2008F) & a zincoln.
Smith's (my old workplace again) - 12 coins consisting of modern cents thru dimes totalling 51 cents. My old haunt is such a goldmine! Wish I could visit there more often.

Day 6, Thu Nov 8th

Smith's (my old workplace, yet again) - Skunked, knew it couldn't last.

Btw, I was gonna edit my OP with each day's progress, but it seems that's not possible after a certain amount of time has elapsed.

Day 7, Fri Nov 9th

Smith's (near me) - Skunk
Albertson's (a couple blocks away) - One zincoln
Smith's (three blocks away) - Skunk

Day 8, Sat Nov 10th

Smith's (near me) - Two clad dimes (stuck together), and a severely corroded zincoln with missing metal.
Albertson's (a couple blocks away) - Clad quarter & dime, Canadian quarter (2013) & dime (1992), and a dime-sized Bicentennial quarter replica. Cool stuff!
Smith's (three blocks away) - Skunk. Was hoping for the hat trick but missed out.

Had occasion to stop by the first two again today:

Smith's (near me) - Single zincoln
Albertson's (a couple blocks away) - Two zincolns!

4 out of 5 scores today. Pretty happy with that.

Day 9, Sun Nov 11th

Was driving in another part of town and had an hour to kill before meeting a friend for dinner, so I hit any Coinstar I could along the way.

Walmart - 3 zincolns, 1 copper penny and a 1962-D dime all on the ground in front of the machine. Woo hoo!
Albertson's #1 - 4 zincolns, 1 nickel and a German 10 euro cents (2002G). Great stuff so far!
Smith's - Skunk at the machine, but found a clad dime on the floor near the checkout. Mine!
Albertson's #2 - Total skunkeroo. Ah well, still a great haul for the day.

Day 10, Mon Nov 12th

My sole stop was the old Smith's workplace, and it let me down...El Skunko.

Day 11, Tue Nov 13th

At the Smith's near me I bagged a clad dime and 2 zincolns, plus another clad dime on the floor near checkout. Supermarkets never fail to have loose change on the floor.

Day 12, Wed Nov 14th

Ended the 12-day run with the three usual suspects:

Smith's (near me) - 1 zincoln
Albertson's (a couple blocks away) - Four zincolns
Smith's (three blocks away) - Nickel, clad dime, clad quarter and a Philippines 1 piso (2015)

Had a blast doing this!

29 different searches and found something on 17 of those stops.
Total US found was $5.17 including two silver dimes!

Foreigns were from Canada, Germany and the Philippines, a nice sampling.

Total coins found ---> 127
