Most of the snow has melted but the fields are still like concrete...frozen solid. Seeing all that grass was too tempting so I gave it a shot. I spent almost 10 minutes digging down 6 inches for a worn copper...which made it all the more worth it! I decided to hit the beach as the tide was going out. No cannonballs but a few more musket balls, including a pistol shot, to add to my poundage. Most of the musket balls on the beach are on the surface due to the strong tides wearing the mud away and depositing it elsewhere. The pic with the glove is an insitu of musket ball #1 which I saw before I detected!
