I fear not the cold weather and decided to go for a short hunt at the ocean side. When I arrived the temperature was 2 degrees with sun on it's way and a light off shore breeze. I was the only one out there. I hunted the very low tide for two hours and found two cents. I moved to the next beach over and hunted two more hours. I found a total of 74 cents and one rather large but nice celestial .926 silver ring. Thanks for looking.

Nice looking ring there Ed, and you definitely earned it!

Boy oh Boy, two degrees is just a little too chilly for me though, plus I hate wearing warm gloves while I'm detecting. For some reason I just can't function the same when wearing them.

Here's to a nice early Spring!

Hi Mike I bet you know all about cold being from Chicago. It actually warmed up to about 18 by the time I left for home. Luck be as it was the sun was out 8)

Nice finds on a cold day hunt ....matt

That is a sweet ring! Congrats on a nice find!!

As long as you're bundled up, you're good, and you sure won't have any competition!. Really like that ring. nice finds.

Ed, 2 degrees? Yikes.... At least it warmed all the way up to 18....

You certainly deserved that nice sterling ring. That's true dedication hunting in that kind of cold...

Might hit 40 on Friday. I might even be tempted to fire up the EX II...

Hi Brian are you near the coast? I hear that Sailsbury Beach is a pretty good place to hunt. I hunted it one time in the winter for only an hour. There are lots of sand dunes nearby that sometimes get cut from the storms.

Ed, I'm about 20 miles west of Boston. I had some great days at Revere and Nahant beaches back in the 90's. Me and brother each got over 60 silver coins in one day after the 'Perfect Storm' back in the early 90's. It was amazing.

I haven't gone to the beaches in at least 10 years. I do miss it. But, I'm sure if a big Nor'easter comes up the coast then I may be heading east...

Take care,

Brian in MA
