Collection of 24 Dug Civil War Buckles

Hello Everyone...

Here is a pic of all of the Civil War plates I have dug since I started Metal Detecting.

In the middle is whats left of a medium fork tongue buckle I dug from a skirmish site on the Fairfax/Loudoun County line. Next to it is a plain plain militia plate I dug from a Confederate camp firepit, same camp as the carbine sling buckle. The US buckle at the bottom was my first plate, I dug it out of a garden in Leesburg, VA. It had been hit by a tiller a million times!! The sword plate I dug years ago.. the keeper I dug last week!!!

What a great collection! All the little dents and missing portions of some of them just add to the interest, IMO.

Thanks! Well.. I have been MD'ing off and on since 1991.. with a couple breaks in there of 2 or 3 years where I didn't go but a few times... 4 or 5 in a year. I have found three this years... the SNY and two Eagle Plates.. soo.. I'd say I'm "on again" for a little while!!
