Found this axe head and have started to restore it. It’s labeled M Collins cast steel warranted. I believe it’s a “Jersey” head or maybe “southern Kentucky”. Info on these things is limited but I can’t find one like it online. Me and bladerunner2019 have been pounding this spot. It’s given up several different Union and a couple confederate buttons, 4 coins ranging from1820s to 1864. The button is rough but it’s my first confederate button! Yes! Finally. We’ve found very very little modern trash. Just a few shotgun shells.
The axes I’ve seen online all ha e different maker marks. If anyone knows or can point me in the right direction on the axe thank you in advance. 9743DB38-4868-410C-A5C7-09441A442661.webp9D22E1D8-DCFC-4AA3-90AE-5BAF0D69EA8A.webp7A0F2909-74FD-4DA0-BC3A-3A125DF91F2E.webp036687EA-002B-438E-9514-6419EA5B23D7.webp036687EA-002B-438E-9514-6419EA5B23D7.webp26B1020C-6C93-40F2-8BA5-28CC5E5F2BDE.webp

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Very nice. If you don’t get info here, there are some experts who video their restorations on YouTube. One might be able to provide you with more info.
