Colonial buckle

Found this here in Northern New Jersey today. Looks like a shoe buckle. Does anyone have an idea how old it is? Love finding these old artifacts!

Mid to late 18th century, probably Revolutionary War, very easily military. The military used ones were quite heavy like yours. Nice find.
