Well I managed to get out for a little bit today and what do you think I found?
You guessed it, another 1600's Spanish Cob.
It was a pretty rough do today and the tides were not in my favor but it did not deter me from exploring some more. I believe this makes coin #10 for me on the summer and it is not even July yet!
Other finds made throughout the hunt were more musket balls (these things seem to be quite common at landings in this area) with 19 of various calibers (including another pounded one). This particular spot had a good bit of modern lead too (sinkers and bullets) but they were fun to dig as anyone of them could have been a good target. I managed 3 buttons, including the complete cufflink set. I love finding them in the water, I just wish this set would have been in better conditions and had been constructed of pure brass. Some of those targets were brass ones too, broken nails, cast screws, buckle pieces, etc.
I also managed a nice colonial line weight and a unique brass "tiny" chain link of some sort.
I will be getting out to a more CW related site on Saturday...upward and onward.
