Colonial hunt with romeo and hunthicks

Well where to start...Romeo came up while on course for 2 evening hunts looking for his cannonball... Had slim pickins the first evening with only a few musketballs and one 1775 copper... On second day, myself and hunthicks decided to get a few hours in before picking up romeo, I decided to change up the game plan a little and gained permission on a new sites.... Well lets just say it paid off for romeo and hunthicks, but that's their story... I believe the site was hit hard before but there were still plenty of targets hidden deep... managed about 25 musketballs, 4 coins, one with possible date of 1620 (will have to soak it first), other coin was late 1700's, a 1854, a crudy vicky silver, a few buttons in which I had a heart stopper pewter pop out but had nothing on it (you'll understand later why), then came my heart breaker (the broken trade axe) may still get some touch marks off it yet.....and one well worn french bale seal....with monte written on it... thanks for looking..

Well if IP could've wished himself here, he would've showed up with bells on and with a good find no doubt.... especially after what hunthicks pulled out...

Ironhorse and I are the only ones that live close together, but I'm sure we'll be over that way sometime in the near future.... especially considering the couple of finds that will be posted soon.

One SHOULD be a banner find, the other probably just a little short. But both are good finds.

You forgot the couple of horseshoes! Was a really nice hunt, getting a confirmed date of 1620 off that copper would be nice for sure! I was hoping that little silver was spanish!

told you 2 if I found the horseshoes, luck would fall into your labs funny with that copper, everything is toasted but the date should come out with some cleaning....now that little silver was just the detecting gods having fun with me.... I needed a good laugh...

Musket balls are also one thing that I dont find many of. You guys find them in numbers!

Your exactly right IH... a new site is sweet, still lots there and sites are harder and harder to come by... my Rev War button is coming soon to a forum near you...
