Colonial or native american bead?

From a site with both, it clinks against my tooth and doesn't have any translucency, so i guess it's stone...the hole is oval on one side, not machine drilled, and it isn't perfectly round...I would really like to get this IDd, so ask any questions and please leave comments or any thoughts

Definitely a trade bead and used by native Americans and early settlers......GTP
 
If it's made of stone, it's native made. If made of glass, European trade bead. Either way, nice find!
