Found this near 1700 salt box house foundation

appears to be once plated, and maybe suspension/mounting hole hand drilled

found some references on line, no perfect match

any help appreciated

Great find! After studying if for a minute, you can definitely see the age... and appears very similar to the examples in your references. I would be very excited finding that, Ddf.
 

Just a thought but could be a very old dog or cat tag but if its to flat to read youll never know but yep ""I agree with what Scotty said Id be happy diggin it cool piece of history
 

thank you both, your right, i was delighted and felt on top of me game, as the thrill of some relics , is how personal they were to the original owner
