Found near a known civil war site. We did have some colonial french occupation here, but not very much. Any ideas on origin, age, type etc... I believe that there is a bird on the top part. maybe a peacock or something? thanks in advance!

Man that's a really nice shoe buckle, can't say for certain about the age but I know it's earlier the CW. Perhaps late 1700s.

Not sure what it is, but doesn't look like a shoe buckle to me. Nice find though.

Kinda looks like a knee buckle. Nice find

looks like a sash broach

Not a shoe buckle for sure, but still a nice buckle. I'd say mid to late 1800s.

I vote for the broach idea, and it's definitely post-CW.

Victorian Sash Pin/Brooch. You can see on the left and right hand side where pin and "C" hook were mounted. Almost looks like it may have broken off during recovery.

Thanks for the replies guys! After some research on some of you guys' suggestions I'm thinking late 1800s.
