Haven't been on here in a while but I could use some help. As I cleaned up what appeared to be a piece of plumbing, the long tubular portion of this find, had what appeared to be cotton inside along with small metal balls that appeared to be buckshot. It sure looks like some sort of pistol body but didn't want to claim something that wild just yet. I have found other colonial era relics near the location where this was dug. Any help id'ing would be appreciated.

I agree a barrel tap or some sort o faucet or spigot.

Here is what wash inside along with a "cotton-y" material. Pretty sure there are more in there but decided to stop digging it out

Ok so did barrel taps had some sort of ball bearing mechanism in them for the handle to turn?
