Went to 1700s house that's a hunting cabin. I was excited but it was rather junky. Didn't hit on to much old stuff . This is what I got . So much iron . Buddy did get a 44 silver .

I tried all day probably 9 hrs. I got some clad . Just so much trash and 1900s iron. If all that was cleaned out probably something there

Nathan, start cleaning! lol Seriously though, if there is that much trash and iron, then it may be that the site hasn't been detected or very little. Check your detector manual or on-line for settings to find deep targets and slow your sweep speed if not already doing so. Go over the site multiple times going different directions and using different coils. If you have disappointing days, when you go home think about making some adjustments, then try again. Chances are if there are some good targets then a rusty old nails or some other ferrous will be nearby. Good luck!

Nathan, I've been detecting where cabin built in the early 1800s once stood. Making 12 visits the past 3 months, the 1700 square foot area has netted 13 LCs, a 2 Reales, the list goes on & on. However, the amount of ferrous dug and still remaining in the ground is discouraging. Yet, when I find a LC amongst 5 old nails in a hole (which has happened), it makes the return visit worth while. I'd say, return as often as your work schedule permits, you've tried different settings/coils, and the property owner lets you. Good luck.
