Today I found a Colonial 1750s tombac button. Only problem is that I was not in a colonial area. I was in a Confederate position from the Civil War. Surrounded by newer homes and woods, I unearthed this button and 3 ballets that day. My guess is that it was a soldier that used a Civilian button since they were low on supplies. What do you think. A CS or US soldier wore this?
