I wonder how many people are out scouring the desert right now for a little chunk of that rock. If I were closer, I know I would like to try and cash in on that too. :tongue3:
 

Yes. If I were 30 or 40 years younger I would! The 6pm news said thousands of people in the sierras have called it in. It's a big deal around here. I also made a comment about it in Meteorites. I'm headed there now. Tnx for the response my friend. TTC
 

If it was a comet there won't be much left - they're mostly ice. A meteor is another matter.
 

A local news reporter is saying the THING may have been as large as a washmachine. Some are now saying it may have been a meteor instead of a comet. California OES (I think that is Office of emergency services) officially declared it a piece of a comet much earier today. TTC
