I've seen a few post on this, but I thought it would be interesting to get them all in one place. We all know the things we are looking for - wheat and Indian pennies; buffalo, silver and liberty nickels; etc. But how about things you have found that you weren't expecting, valuable or not. I'll get us started...

Obviously LOTS of Canadian coins, various Euro coins and a handful of plastic toy coins in my pennies, nickels and dimes.

Dimes have been my most interesting - found a Bermuda dime in one roll, and a steel flat washer in a roll a few months later.

A box of dimes I did a few months ago gave me 5 bus tokens. They were all in different rolls too. To bad they don't use tokens anymore or else I could have gotten 5 free bus or subway rides.

Halves - guitar pick in a mwr. Car wash tokens (about 7 now I think)

Dimes - got a memory card from a cell phone or camera in a mwr. I never did see what was on it though... Lost it. Definitely the oddest non- coin find I've had

I've saved every single foreign coin I've gotten in coin rolls and tossed them into a gallon zip lock bag. The variety is definitely interesting!

Over the past 4-years of serious CRH'g I've gathered enough foreign coins (excluding Canada & Mexico) to fill a three pound coffee can. Gave it to one of my grand sons to see if he could make up a world map of coins just to see at a glance where they all came from. He's still working on it, may prove interesting.
