Concealed Carrying Church Pastor Captures Suspected Armed Robber at Gunpoint

Pastor Carl Sanders might be a man of God, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t believe in using lethal force in self defense if necessary.
Sanders stopped in a Dollar General store to buy a sports drink over the weekend.
What Sanders saw when he entered the store was an armed robbery in progress.
According to*14News, that’s when Sanders took action,
“He was coming at me saying, ‘get on the ground,’” said Sanders. “But I couldn’t see what he had… That’s when I pulled my weapon and say, ‘No, you get on the ground.’”
Sanders says he told the suspect to put his face on the ground and not to look at him.
Sanders held the suspect at gunpoint until police arrived to make an arrest.
The “weapon” the suspect was using ended up being a piece of plastic silverware.
This is another example of a defensive gun use in which no shots were fired, no one was harmed, and the bad guy ended up behind bars. Because of these facts, this incident will likely not be included in many defensive gun use statistics, many of which only count defensive gun uses where someone was shot or killed.
