Confederate Cemetery
The remains of 95 unknown Confederate soldiers from the Battle of Lewisburg, fought May 23, 1862, lie in this cross-shaped common grave. Initially interred at the Old Stone Church, these unclaimed dead were reburied in this cemetery a few years after the battle. The grave has an upright 80 feet long and cross arms of 40 feet.

its nice to see that its being cared for. those men are heros the same as any others who died in combat.

Some pics of the confederate cemetery in the Battlefield Park at Perryville, KY.
A distant cousin of mine owned the land and buried the confederate soldiers when the union troops wouldn't touch them.
My great grandfather fought there with the 27th KY. infantry (union).
