In was planing on heading up that way next month(wife 0ut 0f town) probably the last weekend in Oct. I have been to the Hanau a couple times looking fo Napolinic relics and am planning to go again. If you would like we could meet up in Frankford somwhere.

If only I had the finances to go back to Germany. I was in the ARMY, stationed in Hanau. Got married at the castle in Hanau. The area around all the bases in the Hanua Military community would be great to metal detect. Be sure to post your finds.

There is lots of history there,I have not found the main battle site but the old maps and aerial photos show the bends in the river so I hope I can get my bearings and hit a good spot that I can get permission to hunt.That is also where the British Government went to recruit Hessian mercenaries during the revolutionary war. I went on to the army post and hunted some but there was lots of trash and not a lot of good areas to hit that I could find. It should be a good trip back.
