Dear T-N forum!

I hope I've landed in the right thread here, otherwise I kindly ask the admins to move the post!

My name is Matthias, I've been living in Germany for 31 years and this year I've decided that I want to finally fulfill my dream of prospecting for gold in the USA.

A little about me:

In my life I've had the opportunity to get to know a wide variety of jobs: pizza delivery driver, freelance worker for the local newspaper, photographer, working student, mechanical engineer, software developer, management position in the fire department and I'm currently founding my own software company. I've also started a variety of projects with a good friend: during the Corona pandemic we processed firewood, last year we started copper recycling and now we even have our own small granulation plant.

More copper granules!

So why am I writing here in the forum:

I would like to fly to the States for a few weeks to work on a claim. I don't need any money for that - warm accommodation, something to eat and the opportunity to search for gold are more than enough for me! Unfortunately, although I have a few contacts on the east and west coasts, I don't know anyone who can put me in touch with someone in the "gold business". So I'm looking for people here who can help me put me in touch with contacts.

I am very technically skilled and would love to help with the construction, operation or conversion of a system - be it in the mechanical or electrical area.

Sitting by the fire at the end of a day, drinking a cold beer, enjoying the nature around you and celebrating the day's progress - that's pretty much my goal of the whole story!
So if anyone could use a "free worker" or knows someone who needs support with their project, I would be very happy to hear from you!

Greetings from snowy Germany,
Matthias!

Welcome Matthias to the forum.
Your copper chop looks good.
I had a small granulator for years.
Just remember to keep the grades separated.

So I am just a beginner myself, but you should join the (delete) forum and post this on the welcome forum. There are some professional prospectors and miners, both active and retired, on the forum.

Really? Sending them to a competitive site? You've been a member here for 4 years, and have 4 posts, total.

All due respect to Herschbach, but we've got a few damn good prospectors
here, as well, and they can most certainly represent the TNet flag!

My suggestion for GermanGold would be to join a prospecting club and plan to attend one of their group outings.

When are you looking at coming over? I may have my hard rock mine up by then depending on the time. You would need to sign a waiver.

I’ve got a claim with potential that I’m going to be hiking a dredge into over the course of a few days to work for a couple weeks if that’s more interesting to you.

What are your expectations?

Why work for free? Come and get paid.

There are a couple places in Alaska that you pay to dredge and they take care of everything else. Try hitting them up for some kind of internship that covers the cost and allows you to prospect in your free time?
