Ok many thread on water proof headphones out there. I already have a pair of GG Amphibians that are for my CTX that I sold. I bought this on Ebay.

I know some guys make adapters to go in between the Equinox and the CTX jack but I would like to solder this on myself. That being said. BEFORE I cut the CTX jack off my GG phones I'd like to know what the wiring entails. I believe there are three wires in the cord? White, Black and Red. Can anyone confirm this? Also I would like to know where these wires are soldered on the 1/8 jack.
Trying to find someone who has done this mod before I cut the cord.

Anybody have the wiring diagram for GG Headphones?

Very cool. I couldn't find that to save my ........ :) I'll figure out the tip and ring part. Probably White and Red with Black being the sleeve. Tha plan is to fill the jack with epoxy after I get it correct. Back in business with my old headphones and no adapter cord.

Well I received the connector and installed it today. I may fill it with epoxy as others do. Black was the collar, Red was tip and White was ring.
So everything works fine. My concern is that the threaded portion of the new jack is a bit long and doesn't seat all the way flush with the detector connector. I contacted the guy I bought it from and he said it's the little black ridge around the 1/8 jack that actually makes the seal.
What do you guys think? Don't want to ruin a new detector that's for sure.

You won't ruin the detector as the jack has an internal seal that keeps water out of the head unit even if nothing is plugged into the jack and you don't have the screw in dust cover (yes, that's all it is). However, if salt water does get into the jack, you will want to flush the jack with fresh water to prevent the jack contacts from corroding. Other than that the only thing you have to worry about is water intrusion into the plug causing shorting or corrosion.

Haven't seen a right angle one before, suppose that will provide good strain relief if secured properly.
