Cool Button but don't know what it really is.

Hi guys,
I was just wondering, I don't know what this button is. I found it at an old house from 1868. I found it in Delaware and I was just curious to know. It has a back mark Paris on it. Here's some pics.

I'm not sure what the seller is basing the date on, but they do show a clear picture of the back, showing the makers part of the backmark of M.M.C. , which with a bit of research might help date it with more certainty. https://www.etsy.com/listing/262513695/sweet-antique-pictorial-birds-brass
