Button, Don't know what kind it is or type.

Wanted to post it, before I gave it to my brother.

Got a photo of the back? Not that I'd know....just know that question is coming! ;D

Three castle towers with an E over??

I think it might be upside down RQ.....Look's like it might be an Engineer's "lapel" pin for the US Army....Cool find, can't date it though!!!

I looked at it again, there is an E on top. With it pictured this way. You must be right the E
would be for Engineer.
There also appears to be a row of dimond shapes across the bottom.
Hope someone can date it.

The back does look like a pin.

Felinepeachy....tymcmurray Great research information...Thanks

Felinepeachy,
That site has the history of this button. I get into something like that, and want to read entire thing.
Now if I could just rem. all of it.
That's the button, but the one I have has xxxxx across the bottom.
It may have said something about them, I will go back and check it again.

tymcmurry,

The Ebay page, gives a general idea of the value of this button. Thought it's
not the same, It's clost to it. My button is not in that good shape.
So, it would be worth less.
But, The xxxx on the botton could make a difference.

Nice button. I agree it is an engineers button. Has anyone checked the Tice Book? I am in the office, but will look up the button this evening. I am not sure, but I think I remember seeing this in the book, which covers 1776-1865.
