So i got out today, for 45 minutes with my niece because she's starting to take an interest in the hobby. And i found this coin. It has a big D on one side, and a Shield on the other it says uncirculated Denver, and treasury united states mint. It was 2 inches deep. Cleaned it up with vinegar and a very small amount of baking soda, then toothpaste. Lol here it is. Batteries in the camera were dead so i took the picture with my phone. I love it!

It's a mint token they put in all the uncirculated mint sets. Not really worth anything but an interesting find. You kinda wonder how it got out in the yard.

I don't know, forever I'm not one to complain when I find something neat. Now if only i could find something neat that made of gold! Lol. What is something like that usually worth? And how did someone come across getting one of them?. This one wasn't to bad. Just a little darker than it is now.

I'm not sure they're worth anything. They were just included in the shrink wrap with the mint set so you could tell which mint they came from without having to inspect an individual coin. Many times those sets were broken up so collectors could put the separate coins in albums. The tokens ended up being tossed to the side in the junk bins.

Well that's cool that i found one. Ours still an interesting find.thanks for all the info folks.
