A friend of mine was showing me his collection today and said that he found this roll hunting as a kid. I looked it up, but no luck, so I wanted to get some input on here.

Is that a 1949? Denver is the mint. But can't make out last numeral of date. 5-50 bucks
depending on circulation.
 

That last number is bigger than a 9. It looks like a backwards D but its the wrong size. The same guy has a penny that has 194 and that's it.
 

It is probably a 1940 D. When it was ejected from the press, the last number was caught and pushed into what you see today.

False info??. That's a 1949 mess up, its priceless to a collector. It's atleast worth it's weight in copper. How about that.

I meant to say 5-50 cents. Not bucks btw. Typo on my part.
