Seems like I should know what this is......it looks familiar.......but I can't come up with it. What do you folks think? I figure it's probably not worth anything....just a curiosity. The small end is solid, the large end is hollow. No threads anywhere, but, there is a small groove inside the large end. Almost looks like a keyway, but, I think it's too small for that and it's at a slight angle. Maybe an air bleed, oil, water, (or other fluid) groove? Found in the yard of a 100 year old house.

Certainly possible, thanks. It seems a bit too heavy duty for that use, but, who knows what they might have had in an early trailer or motorhome. A standard pencil is too big to fit in the open end, so, the rod would have to be pretty small in diameter. Any other ideas out there?

Could it be the end-tip to a gun cleaning rod? The tapered hole(s) would be where the cloth patch would be threaded through. Just a guess, as I seem to remember seeing a cleaning rod with that type end piece.
