✅ SOLVED Copper or brass case with US Army

Anyone know what this is or how old it might be? I found it three inches down, when I ran water over the top to get the grime off the case began to fall apart. It's about the size of a ladies compact and looks like copper or brass. Thanks

I think it is a Ladies compact..Google US Army Ladies Compact.The date was 1930 to 1949.Wow that is neat i didn't know they had anything like that.LOL..Osage

I thought it was a unique find, certainly a first for me, nice break from the pennies and junk jewelry that ruled most of my short hunt today. Too bad its falling apart but i'll put that with my 'keepers'. Thanks for looking. Don't worry it's a healthy hobby but my wife told me I needed to go to DA (detectors anonymous) and admit I have a problem.
