Copper or brass chain?

The chain seems to be copper it has a great pattina especially when wet. I found it in my front yard and can't figure what it might be used as. The links are all one piece ant with one break that does not seem to be solidered. Any ideas?

It looks like it could have been used for a hanging lamp or perhaps a hanging basket.

I am pretty sure these types of chains were used for transom windows.....those little windows above doors in old hotels...etc.....

Here's a brass one. Decorative hanging chain for chandelier.

It's sold by the yard, so you could use it for a number of different applications.

I've seen them use to hang plants in a similarly decorative pot. Probably had many uses. Monty
