Copper or Brass?

Being new to this, how do you tell the difference between copper and brass? I know I can get it to the point of non-ferrous or ferrous by using a magnet, but is there anything else to use to determine copper or brass or do you just have to go by color? Thanks for any help. I've slowly been accumulating, but judging from the price drop I better just hold onto it for now.
