I started to put this in the 'cover song' thread, but it seems to deserve a thread of it's own. I guess it's classifed as an country blues song, but it seems very adaptable. My favorite two versions are Brooks and dunn, and Clapton's unplugged 'alberta alberta.

Steppenwolf Live, was a great album and brought back some memories. I haven't heard that song in years, and when listening to it again today, John Kay's vocals sounded much like that of Bruce Springsteen today. By the way, I am one of the few people who are not a Springsteen fan :tongue3: I do like the Steppenwolf version over that of Brooks and Dunn too :icon_thumleft:

I guess I am not just a big country fan, although I do like a few songs, those are few and far between. The good thing is that I do give them a listen anyway. Hey, you never know :tongue3:

yep, it's good to listen to music outside your comfort zone sometimes. Like you said, you never know when something different just might strike a chord you didn't know you had.
