What is it made of? It kind of looks like a lead poker chip, the lead from an old rosette.

I doubt is a coin the way it is craked try gently cleaning it

Also welcome from Mi Tommy

Take your time cleaning the object, perhaps there is some writing to be viewed! :dontknow:

Maybe a Spanish maravedi? Google that and then compare photos. Let us now what you find.

I agree. I have found a few of those in CW camp sites.
Soldier made poker chip. Nice find!

PR,
Welcome to TreasureNet !!
Without cleaning off the crud, if it be that, you'll never know.
We look forward to seeing the 'coin' after the cleaning.
Don........

If it is lead, you can soak it in water for a couple days and lightly brush it with a tooth brush. The dirt and crude will come off without hurting the patina.

I’m leaning towards the lead poker chip theory

Looks like led maybe a flattened musket ball...

If it is a Soldier made poker chip, I would rather have that than a coin any day. Great find.

I'm leaning towards lead, if only because of the photographs. The coloration and cracking are what you might see in a lead piece that's been underground a long time. Do you remember the VDI reading? A lower reading will point toward lead and higher readings towards copper or silver.

It's lead, weight is .5772, that should be a .58 cal rifle ball or trade gun ball.
