Could this be a fossilized mushroom?

I found this gold prospecting the other day. I dug it out of the creek. It looks like a mushroom. What do you all think?

Flip it over. You should be able to see the / a stem. Otherwise it's a leaverite. Don't fret! looking for flakes & pickers makes your eyes go weird!

I looked up fossilized mushrooms and your item does resemble what is being shown.

There is nothing on the back. Youre not kidding. Looking for gold does make your eyes go weird!

I see a small trace of a fossilized something or other on the top.

Thats what got me really looking at it. I am now wondering if it may be horn corral. We find a lot of that here.

Giving a size for reference would help. The center does look similar to a cronoid stem.
