We hit up the farm this weekend as the weather was great! Found a 1912 dime. It's the oldest silver we found here. I know there has to be something older out there somewhere. Lots of mystery iron. Anyone know anything about the huge buckle? I figure horse tack but it's different. All knowledge on any of the iron is very welcome! Have a great week!

I found one a few years ago. Made my day. Hope it made yours. I believe mine was a 1914.

Buckle is definitely harness tac as it's design is similar in form and function to this goat harness I made for a family of show goats.

That dime is a beauty! That’s called circulation cameo when the fields turn dark like that. Don’t clean it please!!!

Great finds! I think the iron is part of a horse bridle.

The buckle is horse tack. It is called a halter trimming buckle. It may have other names as well. Some have one additional loop. Yours has two.
I like the reed plates too. Congrats on a good hunt. 👍🏼
