It has been BLEAK here this year as I'm sure it has for alot of us beach hunters! I went out to one beach a few days ago before heading up to Pa for some dirt hunting there (see the Relic Forum for that post) and was just kinda meandering down the beach not expecting much when I started getting some good signals like nickels and fishing weights. It was all up high and must have been stuff washed up a while back that was getting exposed. I gridded the hell out of the place and came away with a local class ring from 1977 (stainless steel based metal, no gold), a silver ring with purple stone and a small flat button. There are initials in the ring and I may have a name that goes with it just need to make a few calls and see if I can track the person down, stand by for that post if I can return it.

After a few days in Pa I was ready for some more beach hunting. First spot was a total bust, just some fishing weights but I decided to move back to the same spot from a few days before and was surprised that there were still some targets in the area (it looked like more sand had come back up). I hunted for a bit and was getting mostly junk and then the silver ring popped out and it gave me more hope. I kept at it for a bit and moved up even higher but was starting to get more pull tabs and bottle caps. Not expecting much more I got another signal at 12.17 on the CTX which 99% of the time means...another pull tab...but not this time! I was very happily surprised to see a nice 3.6 gram 14k ring in the scoop! Of course I went into "low and slow" mode after that and continued the gridding but that was all for the day. Glad I went back to check that spot and I'll prob hit it again today! Good luck all!
