First if you only had the money to buy one of these two items which would you choose, a blue bowl or a battery operated wet/dry vac. Next I was processing material that I had taken from a bed rock crack first screened through half inch then through a kitchen strainer whatever size that is and then panned that material. So how should I process that between material? Also in regards to the first question I think I'll be working many bedrock cracks this summer. Does the gold and sand hand dredge need water to work?
Thanks for any and all help

The Gold n Sand hand dredge is designed to work in water, on dry land the results would not be good.

As for handling the in between material, you may just want to do a visual inspection and pick out the larger pieces as you go. Once you have all the larger pieces out, what's leftover would be easier to pan.
In the future, you may want to invest in a couple of classifiers. Maybe start with an 8 mesh and a 20 or 30 mesh.

I would also invest in the wet/dry vac over the Blue Bowl. The Blue Bowl is nice, but it's really more of a cleanup tool for really super fines. From what you describe, you will get better use out of the vac IMHO.

i bought my Dyson dyson rechargeable.webp at good will for $14.00, and made my blue bowl using a torch and a wine bottle (to make the cone) in a large tub i got from jackalope, heated the center with torch and pushed bottle thru the center creating the connical inseam into the bowl then cleaned it up using a pair of shears, powered by a 20$ bilge pump from Harbor freight.. works very well. and finding the wine bottle for the right "cone" proved fun too. (i ain't paying $300.00 for a blue bowl) but im allways looking for the next item... so keep your head up! and keep your eye to the shelves at a thrift shop!

double purpose ^^ there terry!

Thanks guys,

Wish I was a little handier, is the blue bowl design really that simple I might be able to do something like that if it doesn't take serious figuring of angle and such. it does seem over priced for what it is?
I did get my first picker in the last crack I worked, at least I'm calling it a picker.

As others have stated the blue bowl is for clean up. Click on my link in my signature and save yourself some gold earned cash. You will not find a better built Vac. I have given all the links to where to buy the needed items to have a better built 6 gallon Vac than anyother on the market. Its 100 percent sealed meaning you have true suction at the nozzle. No leaking at the lid or the intake fitting. Everything is sealed with rubber grommet and rubber O-ring. A couple of classifiers, pans, buckets, paint brush, vac, shovel, pic and you can be crevicing and finding more gold. You can build it for $250.00 to $275.00.
