I found and posted this a couple of weeks ago in todays finds.Can anyone tell me the date that these tags were used. Its made of brass. Maybe someone could help with dating this tag.I ran it trough Google but got only modern farming techniques.

I remember these from the 1960s - the ones from the 1980s are plastic and I suppose the transition was gradually made from the metal to the cheaper plastic kind of eartags. Now, of course, electronic implants, radio frequency tags, barcoded tags, etc. are the thing. Maybe there is a story behind this tag. Maybe it is a stall key fob! Might of been given to the new bull on the farm by one of the young heifers! Nice unusal find showing proof there is romance down on the old farm. Nice find Jimmy!
