Crazy amount of bullets on Civil War property

Crazy lead day. Last month received a permission for a property just outside of Richmond where landowner said CW battle took place on entire property. She also said it has been detected pretty hard so I was not overly optimistic. Last month I dug just a few bullets in 3 hours and ground was rock hard so I put it down on my list of places however decided to return after a rain and decided to hit one of the fields I did not touch last time but really was not optimistic based on what the landowner said about how hard it was it and my last time there. Well within seconds got first bullet then another and another and for 2 hours proceeded to dig 60 bullets. All fired and not very deep I have no idea why the other guys left them perhaps they got tired of digging them and were cherry picking plates. Lol. Crazy history on this property. Of course being greedy as I have dug thousands of bullets I was a little disappointed no brass but there has to be some there. Def a record number of bullets for me in a day and a lot of fun saving history.

good job , now that some of the shallow lead is out of the way you can get down to some buttons and hopefully a plate.

I had many lead filled days when I lived in Fredericksburg , Cumberland has not been kind to me so far.

My brother used to tell me that detectorists would by pass lead signals in search of buttons and plates. If you notice most of the finds being made now are lead. There are still other relics being found but not like 10 or 20 years ago. That being said I would love to have a good hunt like you did.

Nice CW bullet finds! We simply don't have those CW battlefield opportunities up north here in CT.

Wow. With all those targets left I'm sure there are other good things hiding. One of my life goals is to travel down there and find one bullet somewhere!
